Window Cleaning Robot Market Sees Explosive Demand
IDC figures show that global shipments of window cleaning robots reached 2.373 million units in 2025, a year-on-year increase of 70.4%. In Q2 2026, shipments hit 847,000 units for the single quarter, with full-year shipments expected to exceed 3 million units.
- For the domestic Chinese market, the market size of household window cleaning robots in China surpassed RMB 1 billion for the first time in 2024. Online sales registered a striking growth rate of 91.37%, making it the fastest-growing segment in the home cleaning appliance sector.
- The boom in window cleaning robots essentially reflects the concentrated release of rigid demand driven by shifts in urban housing patterns. As high-rise residential buildings become prevalent and large floor-to-ceiling windows turn into a standard feature in mainstream housing layouts, the safety hazards and operational difficulties of high-rise window cleaning have grown increasingly prominent.
- Conventional double-sided magnetic cleaning tools carry risks of pinching hands and falling. Extension poles are labor-intensive to use and struggle to reach the outer corners of windows. Moreover, many housekeeping service providers decline high-rise exterior window cleaning jobs over safety concerns.
- Chinese manufacturers currently dominate global shipments of window cleaning robots. A large number of cleaning service providers purchase these robots in bulk to replace manual labor. Leading window and door brands also offer them as supporting terminal services, delivering on-site cleaning services to property owners.
- Application scenarios are expanding beyond households to commercial settings. There is substantial cleaning demand for floor-to-ceiling windows in hotel guest rooms, glass surfaces on school teaching buildings, display cabinet glass in museums, and curtain walls in office buildings. Traditional cleaning models suffer from high labor costs and significant safety risks, and the commercial value of window cleaning robots is coming to the fore.
